양봉 장인 이라 불리우는 이희철님은 1978년 전남 해남에서 첫

양봉 농장을 연 후 지난 42년 동안 정도의길을 걷고 있는

호남지역의 대표 양봉인 입니다.

청정지역 전남 영암, 해남, 장흥에 위치한 3곳의 농장 한때

천군(1000개의 벌통)의 벌통의 기르며, 양봉업의 0.1% 대농을

이루었지만, 현재는 70이 넘은 연세에 800군의 벌들만을 기르며

천연 벌꿀을 채취하고 있답니다. 하지만 이 역시 양봉농가의

상위 1% 수준으로엄청난 노익장을과시하고 계시네요. 

 

꿀은 자연 내려주는 선물로써 양봉인은 그저 자연으로 부터 오는

선물을 세상 사람들에게 정직하게 전달만하는 매개체 일뿐이라는

신념으로 일을하고 계시며, 그래서인지 정말 고집스럽게도

원칙을 지키며 일을 하십니다.

또한 한국양봉조합의 극소수뿐인 선도조합원으로써, 대한민국 양봉업

장인의 고집으로 직접 시설 설비를 농장에 설치하여,

이희철 진꿀 전용으로 포장되어 지고 있답니다. :)
