二○一六年一月六日,新曆年假期不久,編輯收到廢死聯盟林欣怡的email,說他們剛開完鄭性澤律師團會議,雖然張娟芬早已為鄭性澤案寫了《十三姨KTV殺人事件》,但因為是屬於法律與社會學面向的作品,他們想為鄭性澤爭取再審尋找另一次出版曝光機會。一週後,在出版社的會議室,眾人苦思良久,編輯正覺得已無法再有一本非虛構作品可以比張娟芬寫得更好的時候,腦中突然閃過推理小說家臥斧的身影。編輯說,非虛構走不通,我們就來走虛構吧!


■《FIX》是怎麼寫出來的:冤案像是寫壞了的推理小說


二○一六年四月十九日,小說家臥斧第一次到廢死聯盟開會,在聽完鄭性澤案的疑點與爭取再審的關鍵證據後,臥斧向編輯提出構思,他想到多年前曾經有個沒繼續下去的寫作計畫,就是討論推理應該怎麼寫的故事,他覺得冤案就像是寫壞了的推理小說,或許這兩者是可以連結的。不到二十天,臥斧就以鄭性澤案寫出了這本書的第一篇作品〈敲木頭〉,也開始與平冤協會討論該選擇哪些案子,z後就是《FIX》的七篇故事,涵蓋了臺灣三十年來甚受社會矚目的重要冤案。


■《FIX》想做到什麼


《FIX》本質上當然是一本推理小說,包含了密室開槍、綁架、墜橋、性侵、跨國犯罪等各種案件類型,希望讓讀者有閱讀上的樂趣,也因為書中一個奇特的角色「阿鬼」,他總是在別人的作品發表時神出鬼沒地指正作者,「你搞錯凶手了!」「這裡不太合理!」所以讀起來也像是在辯論什麼是傑出推理小說的元素。但同時,這本書也希望做到書名「FIX」的意思,希望這個世界發生的事,我們都能修理、補齊、校準以及牢記。書的後記會揭曉是哪些案件,以及目前案件的進展。從《FIX》二○一七年首次出版以來,除了一個案件的當事人已遭槍決外,已有兩個案件獲得無罪平反,另有四個案件仍在持續救援。
