重症医学以令人瞩目的速度快速发展着,而其中令人兴奋的事件之一是原本就已经存在,因为重症而焕发的超声技术,即重症超声(critical ultra-sonography,CU)迅猛地在重症医学领域生根、发芽、结果,并成为重症医学科(intensive care unit.ICU)必不可少的诊疗工具。
  重症超声不同于传统的诊断超声,实施者和影像结果解读者均为ICU医生,ICU医生首先发现问题,然后将重症医学诊疗思路借助超声这一影像学工具在床旁实现,而不是借助中间人、借助影像学报告解决问题,也正是这个原因使得重症超声在重症领域得到迅猛发展,甚至从心、肺、血管逐渐发展为全身超声(whole-body ultrasound),而重症相关操作的可实施性与安全性也因为重症超声的介入而得到进一步发展。
