本书第4版出版至今又过去了整整十年。在这十年中,可靠性方法又有了长足的发展,主要是因为设计分析软件和可靠性数据分析软件的使用。当然,工程技术本身的发展对可靠性也有促进作用。互联网也为信息和工具的获得增加了一个渠道。
为了包含上述新内容,Andre Kleyner与我合作编写了新的一版。本书大部分新内容出自Andre,他提供了许多例题中软件计算出的结果,补充或更新了文字和图形方法。他还更新了一些技术方面的内容,并增加了数据分析等章节。
