人类认识自然,80%以上信息都经由视觉获得,无论西医的“视、触、叩、听”,还是中医的“望、闻、问、切”,观察人体表征的诊病方法均列首位。而我们现在所说的手诊,是指对手部的望诊,它主要分为气色形态、手纹和手形三大类。
手与人体内脏、经络和神经都有着密切联系,而各种疾病或多或少跟内脏器官也有联系,所以,如果体内潜在有病理变化时,不论是早期的、发展中的,还是晚期的,都会或隐或现地在手上反映出来,留下不同的印记,从而给我们观察时提供诊断依据。具体到掌纹来说,它的形状由遗传决定,一般比较稳定,但当其受到环境因素的影响时,就会发生改变,从而提醒我们身体正在悄悄地发生变化。
《灵枢·本脏篇》指出:“视其外应,以知内脏,则知其病矣。”《灵枢.五色篇》中进一步指出“以五色命五脏,青为肝,赤为心,白为肺,黄为脾,黑为肾。”《难经》中提出“望见其五色,以知其病”。
