教学团队建设旨在提高我国高等学校教师素质和教学能力,促进高等教育教学质量的科学改进与提高。2007年,*等颁发了《*、财政部关于实施高等学校本科教学质量与教学改革工程的意见》的文件,在全国高校范围内,评选首批百个*教学团队,北京师范大学“区域地理*教学团队”和兰州大学“地球系统科学*教学团队”名列其中。2008~2010年是*首批*教学团队建设的关键时期,《区域地理论丛》正是北京师范大学“区域地理*教学团队”实施这一工程的集体成果之一。
《区域地理论丛》的目标,是探索区域地理学的基本问题,它以不同空间尺度的人地关系地域系统为研究对象,阐明区域景观、格局与过程,凸显人口、资源、环境和区域的可持续发展。在理论层面上,区域地理是地理学的核心内容,也是历久弥新的领域。在教学实践上,区域地理是地理学教学的切入点和归宿处,能够集中体现地理学的综合性和地域性,融自然地理、人文地理和应用地理于区域地球表层系统的综合观察和分析之中,将地理学理论渗透在实践应用之中,更是高校地理类专业培养学生综合地理思维的重要内容。在社会应用上,区域地理面向国家社会经济发展的重大需求,适合开展国情教育;区域地理同时也面向经济全球化浪潮的碰撞和冲击,为政府主导下的多元区域发展提供科技支撑。总之,区域地理可以成为地理学各分支学科在不同空间尺度下的耦合系统,也是统筹各地理分支学科协调发展的重要平台。
