从欧洲文艺复兴时期起,基于科学思考方式的近代口腔医学迅速发展。1920年,Gysi在前人研究的基础上,将全口义齿理论及技术进行整理,总结出一套全口义齿修复的方法。随着科学技术的发展、口腔材料的更新及医学教育的普及,如今,在现有的医疗制度下,在任何地方,患者无论去哪家口腔医院,基本都可以得到一副坚固耐用的全口义齿。
